Artist Bio

With her grandfather’s hands cupped around hers, Chao Zheng Li took her first photo at the age of two. Her photographic style is much influenced by her roots in photojournalism, the art of being prepared to capture the unexpected, and classical drawing, a slow and steady test of patience and accuracy since the age of seven. Her technical skills were solidified after countless hours in the darkroom developing film photographs, although most of her work today is digital.

Regardless of the medium, Li’s work embodies her perspective of candid observations. These photographs are narratives of fleeting moments that express the splendor of creation, whether it’s the human condition through portraits and events photography, architecture, or nature. The sense of wonder, observation, and empathy her grandfather instilled in her continues to define her lifelong goal of capturing beauty and contributing to humanity whenever she can.

Li enjoys turning comments about art into meaningful conversations. You can reach her via the box on right.
